About the Attorney

TTiffany V. Colbert, Esq.  was admitted to the Florida Bar in 2011 and prior to founding The Colbert Law Firm in 2013, she held a position as an Assistant Public Defender under Robert Wesley, Public Defender for the 9th Judicial Circuit in Orlando, FL. During her tenure with the Public Defender’s Office she had full oversight of initial investigations, trial planning & practice, motions practice, discovery, legal research, and courtroom appearances for both felony and misdemeanor cases. Cases included Possession of Child Pornography, Child Abuse, Child Neglect, Resisting an Officer With & Without Violence, DUI, Narcotics/ Drug Possession, Theft, Prostitution, Domestic Violence, Battery, and Traffic.

Colbert earned her Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law in May, 2011, and was named to the 2011 Who’s Who Among American Colleges and Universities. She earned several awards from Stetson University College of Law including the American Law Institute – American Bar Association Scholarship & Leadership Award, the Victor O. Wehle Award for Trial Advocacy, the William F. Blews Pro Bono Service Award, and the “book” awards in both Trial Advocacy and Sports Law.

In August 2010, her peers elected her to serve as one of three law students in the nation to represent the American Bar Association Law Student Division as a Delegate to the ABA House of Delegates. She has been published twice by the American Bar Association. Colbert served as a summer law clerk to the 6th Judicial Circuit (Civil and Appellate) in Clearwater, Florida and as a summer intern at Payas, Payas, & Payas (Personal Injury) in Orlando, Florida.

Colbert graduated with her B.S. in Legal Studies from the University of Central Florida in 2008 (GO KNIGHTS!) where she also received a Specialization Certificate in Litigation and Advocacy, the Mock Trial Team at UCF’s Chief Justice John Marshall Award for dedicated service and leadership, and was a multi-recipient of the President’s Honor Roll.  She is currently an Adjunct Professfor at UCF and is the Faculty Advisor to the Mock Trial Team.

Colbert was born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She attended high school at West Orange High School in Winter Garden, Florida. She is a member of the Florida Bar, the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, The Central Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the Orange County Bar Association.
